Shepherdstown Community Club * Work Party on April 28th

The Shepherdstown Community Club needs your hands-on work with its young trees on April 28th

To insure appreciation of the tree canopy by future generations at Morgan’s Grove Park, the Community Club and our conservation partners have planted many trees in the park.  It’s now time to do some maintenance work to insure these trees have a healthy life and continue to grow big and strong.

Master Naturalist and Friend of the Park Shawn Walker will lead our efforts in 3 areas on Saturday April 28th:  Structural Pruning of the trees, removing invasive vines that are climbing the trees and mulching around the base of the trees.  No experience necessary. Please join us if you can at the Morgan’s Grove Park lower parking lot (near the railroad tracks) at 9:00AM April 28th to help with this effort. Shawn will review concepts before we begin and will bring a good number of tools and protective equipment (gloves and eye protection) but please bring your own if possible.  Please call or email Steve Ayraud with questions at 805-748-7051 or
