Renew your Membership!

Talk about a challenge.  I am the new membership chairman. The charge given to me is somewhat challenging: double the membership by the end of 2020.

Boy do I need help! I’m green but determined. On the other hand, there are so many good things about our organization that my job may turn out to be a snap.

Just look at what SCC offers to its members. We like to think of it as E-E-E-E(enlightenment, education, entertainment and exchange of ideas). It’s all here.• The SCC mission statement of purpose:

Enrich the quality of individual, family and community life by providing community center and a park where all ages can gather.• The SCC owns, maintains and operates the historic War Memorial Building (WMB) in downtown Shepherdstown.• The SCC owns and maintains Morgan’s Grove Park outside of town.• The SCC does more than preserve the building and the park but also provides community events to utilize the two assets at its disposal such as community dinners (almost monthly), the Labor Day Picnic and the May 9th Barbeque.• The SCC supports the merchants of Shepherdstown and promotes fellowship among the SCC members.

Ways to raise funds include the club’s membership fees, the Back-Alley Tour and Tea in May and the legendary book sale in October. To contribute to our mission the membership can (a) volunteer (b) pay dues (c) make donations in addition to dues and (d) bring in new members (e)all of these. Let’s make this another great year for SCC!

Annual dues are now due. If you paid after September 1, 2019, we are honoring yourpayment of membership dues for 2020.  There is an increase in dues for this year. • Individuals $35• Family $50• Students $20
